The math of roulette
Disclaimer
Roulette Odds explains the mathematics of roulette. Please read this before relying on any figure, tool or guide on the site.
Educational information only
Everything on this site is general educational information. It is not gambling, financial, legal or professional advice, and it is not a recommendation to gamble.
No predictions or winning systems
Probabilities describe how often outcomes occur under a model; they do not predict the next spin. No calculator, chart or betting system on this site can overcome the house edge on a fair standard wheel, and the Martingale page shows how a progression increases exposure. Past results do not change future spins.
Assumptions behind every figure
- Standard payouts: 35:1 for a single number down to 1:1 for even-money bets.
- A fair wheel with 37, 38 or 39 equally likely pockets, as stated on each page.
- Independent spins.
- Zero rules exactly as described, such as full loss on zero unless La Partage is stated.
Real tables, online games and multiplier variants can use different rules. Always check the paytable and rules of the game in front of you.
No operator endorsement
Roulette Odds does not offer gambling, accept bets or deposits, or list, rank or endorse casinos or gambling sites. Mentions of venues or providers in source documents are not endorsements.
Legality and age
Gambling laws and minimum ages differ by country, state and province. It is your responsibility to know and follow the law where you are.
Gambling involves risk
Every standard roulette bet has a negative expected value for the player. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose, and see responsible play if gambling stops feeling manageable.
